Huatulco race:
Home country favorite Claudia Rivas and last year's winner Lisa Perterer (AUT) took control of the bike early on along with Denmark's Line Thams to create a minute wide gap over the chase by midway through the four-lap course.
Unfortunately Lisa couldn't finish the race due to a foot injury in the run split.

Huatulco pre-race hype
While the familiar sun peaked out early in the day, the predicted rain clouds roared in on Friday as some of the elites gathered for a press conference to talk all about the upcoming 2015 Huatulco ITU Triathlon World Cup race on Sunday, June 14. Lisa Perterer (AUT), Mateja Simic (SLO) and Luciano Taccone (ARG) met in front of a large local Mexican crowd at the Dreams Resort to speak about the upcoming race and represent the international athletes.

Lisa Perterer: "It is my first time being here and I am looking forward to the race on Sunday. I really like the heat and especially the hilly course. I am not sure how my run will be at the moment because I have had foot problems the last two months. My goal however is to defend my race number, but I think it will be hard because there are many good athletes on the start list - but we will see!"

London: Lisa Perterer finished the London Olympics 48th out of 55. After the swim, Lisa had to compete from the low rankings. The bicycle split on partly wet streets was overshadowed by several cambers. Finally Nicola Spirig (1.) and Lisa Norden (2.) finished with the same time, a photofinish decision was necessary.

Guatape, Colombia: Intense overnight rains caused massive mudslides which forced the ITU to cut a planned Olympic distance World Cup race to a sprint distance in Guatape, which is located in a mountainous region of Colombia.
Lisa finished 7th. This is her 2nd best result in 2011. Good luck again after health problems during the Bejing race and a bicycle breakdown in Mexico.
Recently Lisa has been asked to model for her sponsor's current catalogue and she even made it on the front page:

Reigning Junior World Champion Ashleigh Gentle of Australia stepped up to the elite ranks in a big way, snatching victory at the Edmonton ITU Triathlon World Cup. Brazilian veteran Carla Moreno, Lisa Perterer and Mateja Simic locked into a battle for the last two podium spots. Eventually Moreno was dropped and Perterer and Simic hit the final finish chute together, sprinting toward the line. Simic edged out the Austrian by two seconds but both were ecstatic in simultaneous career breakthrough performances.
Lisa Perterer was thrilled with her finish, having squeaked onto the start list by the skin of her teeth.
“The swim was so amazing,” Perterer said. “I can’t believe that I was in the first bike group. I showed that I can swim and I’m so happy.”
